Poll Shows Americans Favor Democrats Over Republicans on Economic Issues
A recent Ipsos/Reuters poll indicates that Americans currently favor the Democratic Party over the Republican Party when it comes to handling the economy and cost of living. The poll, conducted from July 29 to August 3, reveals that 33% of Americans believe Democrats have a better approach to the U.S. economy, while 35% think Democrats are stronger on the cost of living. In contrast, only 31% of respondents preferred Republicans on economic issues, and 27% were undecided. The poll also highlights a significant disapproval of President Trump's handling of economic matters, with 63% disapproving of his economic management and 70% disapproving of his handling of inflation. The Democratic Party is campaigning on an 'affordability' agenda, with leaders like Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries emphasizing the need to address rising costs.
