Charges Dropped Against Defendants in Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool Case
Prosecutors in Washington have dropped charges against three individuals accused of damaging the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. This decision follows the dismissal of charges against former Olympian David Hearn, who was initially accused of causing over $1,000 in damage to the pool. The charges against Justin Carreno, Sophie Dennison-Gibby, and Cameron Thiers were also dropped. The decision came after new evidence suggested the damage was due to a contractor's error during a rushed installation. The case has drawn criticism from President Trump, who accused the U.S. Attorney's office of mishandling the situation.
