Michigan Man Sentenced for Role in Metro Detroit Auto Theft Ring, Impacting Local Economy
Amarion Jordan, a 23-year-old from Inkster, Michigan, has been sentenced to 5-20 years in prison for his involvement in a significant auto theft ring in the Detroit area. The criminal enterprise, active from 2023 to 2025, targeted new vehicle storage lots, car dealerships, parking lots, and private residences. An investigation by the Michigan Attorney General's office in 2024 revealed that over 400 vehicles, valued at approximately $8 million, were stolen and sold on the black market at prices significantly below market value. This operation has been described as devastating to victims and harmful to local businesses, prompting aggressive legal action to dismantle the network and protect community safety and economic stability.
