Oklahoma PikePass System Expands Interoperability to Five Additional States, Enhancing Travel and Reducing Operational Costs
The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) has announced a significant expansion of its PikePass electronic toll deduction system, allowing Oklahoma drivers to use their devices in five new states. These states include Pennsylvania, Illinois, Massachusetts, Indiana, and North Carolina, encompassing six new tolling entities such as the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Illinois State Highway Authority, Skyway Concession Company in Chicago, Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Indiana Toll Road Concession Company, and North Carolina Turnpike Authority. This initiative also means that toll passes from these jurisdictions will be recognized on Oklahoma turnpikes. According to Joe Echelle, OTA executive director, this is a major development, especially given the volume of out-of-state traffic in Oklahoma.
