Marine Le Pen Condemns Alleged Sidelining of Female Staff at Eiffel Tower, Calls for Investigation
Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Rally, has condemned the alleged sidelining of female staff at the Eiffel Tower during a visit by a delegation from the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) Hindu community. The incident, which occurred on Sunday, led to a staff strike on Monday, forcing the closure of the iconic monument. According to AFP, Eiffel Tower staff reported receiving "professional instructions that led to female employees being sidelined, replaced and made invisible because of their sex" during the delegation's visit. Some female employees were asked to leave their posts or were replaced by men, and all female staff were instructed to avoid certain areas while the delegation was present. Le Pen stated on X, "In France, we will never accept that the presence of women be 'limited.' All light must be shed on what happened during this visit to the Eiffel Tower."
