South Charleston Recreation Center Hosts 'Coat of Any Color' Drive Inspired by Dolly Parton
The South Charleston Recreation Center, affectionately known as 'The Dolly Dome' by locals, in collaboration with Mountain Mission, organized the 'Coat of Any Color Collection Drive' on Tuesday. This initiative aimed to gather new or gently used coats of any size and color to ensure that residents across the Mountain State have access to warm outerwear during the winter months. John Roberts, the executive director of Mountain Mission, stated that the philanthropic efforts of Dolly Parton served as the inspiration for this community-focused coat drive. In addition to collecting coats, Mountain Mission is also facilitating monetary donations to further support their charitable activities. The event underscores a community effort to address a practical need for warmth, drawing on a well-known figure's legacy of giving.
