Travis Kelce Identified as Victim in $35 Million Ponzi Scheme
Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has been identified as a victim in a $35 million Ponzi scheme orchestrated by Siddharth Jawahar. Jawahar, 38, was sentenced to 11 years in prison and ordered to pay $31.35 million in restitution after pleading guilty to three counts of wire fraud. The scheme, which ran from July 2016 through December 2023, involved Jawahar raising over $35 million from investors but only investing about $10 million. He used new investors' money to pay earlier clients and funded a lavish lifestyle, including private jets, luxury apartments, and designer shopping. While Kelce's connection to Jawahar's Swiftarc Venture Labs Fund was previously known, prosecutors did not disclose the specific amount Kelce invested or lost.
