Duchess Sophie Assumes New Royal Patronage for Visualise Scotland, Showcasing Personal Connection and Distinct Style
Duchess Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, has been named the new patron of Visualise Scotland, a charity supporting adults with visual impairment and other disabilities in the Edinburgh region. This patronage holds personal significance for Sophie, as her eldest child, Lady Louise, was born with esotropia, an eye condition corrected by surgery. To mark the announcement, Buckingham Palace released a new portrait of Sophie, taken by Millie Pilkington, a photographer known for her work with Prince William and Princess Kate. In the portrait, Sophie wore an ivory trumpet-sleeved dress by Beulah London, a brand favored by Princess Kate, and notably sported a dark, plummy brown nail polish, a departure from the typically neutral shades worn by members of the Royal Family.
