Severe Weather Forces 22 Planes to Divert from Denver, Injuring Five
On Monday night, severe weather conditions in Denver, Colorado, led to the diversion of 22 aircraft to Colorado Springs. The Colorado Springs Airport reported that the diversions were due to a cold front moving through the area, causing gusty winds and shifts in wind direction. As a result, five passengers sustained injuries from turbulence, with one individual requiring hospitalization. The Colorado Springs Fire Department had medical teams stationed at the airport to provide immediate assistance. United Airlines confirmed that 12 of its mainline jets were among those diverted, although no injuries were reported on their flights.
