The South Carolina State Election Commission (SEC) is encouraging eligible residents to register to vote or verify their existing voter registration information. This initiative coincides with National Voter Registration Day on September 15, 2026. The SEC emphasizes the importance of reviewing registration details, especially for those who have recently moved or changed their name, to prevent issues during future elections. SEC Executive Director Conway Belangia stated that taking a few minutes to confirm registration status now can ensure preparedness for upcoming electoral processes. The deadline to register for the November 3 Statewide General Election is Sunday, October 4. Voters have several options to register, including online via scVOTES.gov, by downloading and returning a form via fax, email, or mail, or in person at their county voter registration office.
