Boston Anticipates Rainy Week Ahead of Labor Day Weekend
Boston is forecast to experience several days of rain throughout the upcoming work week, leading up to a potentially mild and sunny Labor Day weekend. According to National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologist Andrew Loconto, Monday is expected to be the driest day of the week, with a 'backdoor cold front' bringing cooler temperatures and a northeasterly wind. Skies will remain mostly sunny and dry on Monday, with a high in the mid-70s, before showers begin late that night. From Tuesday through Thursday, a stalled frontal system is anticipated to bring mostly cloudy skies, high temperatures in the low to mid-70s, and multiple periods of showers and thunderstorms. While no severe weather is expected, rainfall totals could accumulate to 1-2 inches in some areas. The NWS indicates that conditions are expected to clear up by Friday, with partly sunny skies and temperatures remaining around the mid-70s, leading into a favorable Labor Day weekend.
