Gerald Malloy Wins Vermont GOP Primary, Set to Challenge Becca Balint in November
Gerald Malloy, an Army veteran and defense contractor, has secured the Republican nomination for Vermont's sole seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Malloy won the primary with a significant lead over his opponent, Mark Coester, capturing 77% of the votes with 60% of the ballots counted. This marks Malloy's third attempt at a federal office, having previously run for U.S. Senate seats. He will face incumbent Democratic Congresswoman Becca Balint in the upcoming general election. Balint, who ran unopposed in the Democratic primary, is seeking her third term in Congress. Malloy's campaign focuses on making Vermont more affordable and supporting Republican Governor Phil Scott to attract business to the state.
