Pratt Institute Opens New Student Wellness Center in Brooklyn
Pratt Institute has officially opened a new 25,000-square-foot Student Wellness Center on its Brooklyn campus. This four-story facility centralizes various health and wellness services, including counseling, healthcare, academic support, and career development, into one accessible location. The center, designed by FXCollaborative, aims to provide integrated support for students, reducing the need to navigate multiple buildings for different services. It houses Health Services, Counseling Services, the Learning/Access Center, the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD), Student Success, Student Advocacy, the Resilience Wellness and Well-being Center, and the Pratt Pantry. The design emphasizes a balance of privacy and openness, incorporating acoustic insulation, dimmable lighting, natural materials, and student artwork to create a welcoming and confidential environment.
