College Station's Inaugural Restaurant Week Raises Over $5,800 for Hunger Relief
College Station, Texas, recently concluded its inaugural Restaurant Week, an event that successfully generated $58,595 in total sales. Ten percent of these proceeds, amounting to $5,859.50, have been donated to the Brazos Valley Food Bank for hunger relief efforts. The event, held from August 24-30, featured fixed-price, multi-course menus for lunch and dinner at various price points. Eight local establishments participated, including Brazos Proper Texas Kitchen, Casa do Brasil, Casa Mangiare, De Baca Steakhouse, Juanita’s Tex-Mex Cantina, Office of the Dean, Porter’s Dining + Bar, and Red’s Icehouse. Theresa Mangapora, executive director of the Brazos Valley Food Bank, highlighted the community partnership as a significant achievement, emphasizing that every meal enjoyed contributed to helping neighbors facing food insecurity.
