Billings Gazette Relocates Downtown Office After 57 Years, Reflecting Industry Changes
The Billings Gazette is moving its operations from its long-standing downtown location at 401 N. Broadway to Granite Tower at 222 N. 32nd St. This move marks the end of a 57-year era for the newspaper in a building specifically constructed for its operations in 1968. The relocation comes amidst significant changes in the newspaper industry, including the Gazette ceasing its printing operations in Billings last year and moving them to Bozeman. The Broadway building was put up for auction in July and has since been sold. Current and former employees reflect on the building as a place filled with memories, emphasizing the people and the stories covered rather than just the physical structure.
