Natural-Caused Wildfire Ignites Near Cedar City, Utah, Growing Overnight
A wildfire, known as the Eight Mile Fire, has ignited approximately 10 miles west of Cedar City in Iron County, Utah. Initially discovered on Friday, the fire burned 15 acres by that evening and is reported to have potentially grown to 60 acres by Saturday morning. Firefighters have responded with both aviation and ground resources. However, their efforts were interrupted by a drone flying nearby, prompting Iron County emergency officials to remind the public that drones must be grounded near active fires. The Eight Mile Fire was started from natural causes.
