Ford Philanthropy and Carhartt Open Detroit ToolBank to Support Community Projects
Ford Philanthropy and Carhartt have collaborated to open the Detroit ToolBank, a tool library designed to support local nonprofits, churches, schools, and neighborhood groups with community projects. Located in Detroit's Milwaukee Junction neighborhood, the facility provides access to a wide range of tools at a minimal cost. Nonprofits can rent tools for a fraction of their retail price, with a 4% handling fee applied. The ToolBank aims to empower organizations that may not have the resources to purchase tools outright, enabling them to undertake projects that benefit the community.
