Bhopal Launches Professor Rattan Lal Awards to Promote Regenerative Agriculture
In Bhopal, India, the Professor Rattan Lal Awards for Excellence in Regenerative Agriculture were launched to coincide with World Soil Day. This initiative, spearheaded by Solidaridad and the ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil Science (IISS), aims to recognize and encourage advancements in soil health and sustainable farming practices. Professor Rattan Lal, a renowned soil scientist, participated virtually in the event, emphasizing the importance of soil restoration for ensuring food security and climate stability. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Padma Shri Dr. M.H. Mehta, a leader in eco-agriculture. Additionally, thirteen other individuals were honored for their contributions to soil regeneration and climate resilience.
