Hind Rajab Foundation Files Complaint in France Against Former Israeli Soldier for War Crimes
The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), in partnership with Urgence Palestine, has filed a complaint in France against former Israeli platoon commander Elitzur Gitler. The complaint, submitted under Article 40 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure by French MP Thomas Portes, alleges Gitler's involvement in operations targeting civilians and protected objects during the conflict in Gaza between November 2023 and April 2024. The investigation by HRF and Urgence Palestine documents four specific incidents where Gitler's unit, the Lahav Company of the 9th Armored Battalion, was implicated. These incidents include the attack on Rantisi Children’s Hospital in November 2023, the destruction of Bani Suheila Square in December 2023, the destruction of buildings in Hamad City in March 2024, and the demolition of Hassan al-Banna Mosque and Tiberias School in March/April 2024.
