North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has showcased a newly repaired warship, the Kang Kon, as part of his efforts to build a nuclear-armed navy. This development comes ahead of a visit by Chinese leader Xi Jinping, highlighting the strengthening ties between North Korea and China. The Kang Kon, a 5,000-ton destroyer, underwent sea trials after being repaired from a failed launch last year. It is designed to carry a range of weapons, including nuclear-capable ballistic and cruise missiles. Kim's visit to the warship was accompanied by his daughter, Kim Ju Ae, who is speculated to be his potential successor. The unveiling of the warship is part of North Korea's broader strategy to expand its military capabilities and nuclear deterrent.
