EU Tourism Platform Streamlines Access to Funding for European Tourism Sector
The European Union has launched the EU Tourism Platform, a centralized hub designed to consolidate EU, national, and regional funding sources for the tourism sector. This platform aims to assist tourism businesses, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in accessing grants and programs that support green transition, digital transformation, and job creation. The initiative is part of the European Commission's effort to strengthen the tourism ecosystem, which is a significant contributor to the EU economy, accounting for approximately 8-9% of GDP and over 20 million jobs. The platform simplifies the complex funding landscape, making it easier for tourism operators to identify and apply for financial support. This improved access is expected to help businesses become more sustainable, create jobs, and drive economic growth.
