Edna V. Ernst Passes Away at 96, Leaving a Legacy of Family and Farming
Edna V. Ernst, a long-time resident of Overland Park, Kansas, and formerly of Alberta, Minnesota, passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 96. Edna was born on October 8, 1929, in Elgin, North Dakota, and later moved with her family to a farm in Stevens County, Minnesota. She married Wesley Ernst Jr. on November 3, 1953, and together they raised three children while managing a farm where they cultivated crops and raised cattle and horses. Edna was known for her dedication to her family and her exceptional cooking skills, particularly her pies. She continued to live on the family farm until she was 90 years old. Edna is survived by her daughters, Valerie Lemke and Nancy Wilkerson, her daughter-in-law Bev Benson, six grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband Wesley, her son Douglas, and other family members. Funeral services are scheduled for August 15, 2026, at the Morris Evangelical Free Church in Morris, Minnesota.
