Metra Train Incident in Wheeling Causes Major Commuter Delays
A Metra North Central Service Line train struck a trespasser near Wheeling, Illinois, early Monday morning, leading to extensive delays for commuters. The incident occurred around 7 a.m. on the Canadian National Railroad tracks near Diens Drive. Both inbound and outbound train services were halted, with movement resuming around 8:45 a.m. However, delays continued to affect the morning rush hour. The Wheeling Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene, and an investigation is underway. Commuters are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
