Health Equity and Accountability Act Reintroduced to Expand Healthcare Access
Democratic lawmakers have reintroduced the Health Equity and Accountability Act (HEAA) of 2026, aiming to reduce health disparities and improve access to affordable, high-quality care. The legislation, supported by the Congressional Tri-Caucus, seeks to address persistent health disparities affecting minorities, women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and low-income communities. It proposes expanding culturally competent care, increasing healthcare workforce diversity, and investing in disease prevention and telehealth services.
