Airbus Advances Production of C295 Maritime Patrol Aircraft for Spanish Air Force
Airbus Defence and Space has announced progress in the production of the first C295 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) for the Spanish Air and Space Force. The aircraft is being assembled at Airbus's Seville factory, with the first power-on marking a significant milestone. The C295 MPA is set to replace the retired Lockheed P-3 Orion and will be utilized for anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, command and control, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions. The aircraft will be equipped with Airbus's Fully Integrated Tactical System, which includes radars, sensor turrets, sonobuoys, and other advanced technologies. Deliveries are expected to begin in late 2026 or early 2027.
