IRS Expands Business Tax Account Access to Millions of Organizations
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has announced a significant expansion of its Business Tax Account service, now extending online access to millions of additional organizations across the United States. This expansion allows partnerships, government entities, and tax-exempt organizations to manage their federal tax accounts through a secure online platform for the first time. The initiative is part of the IRS's broader effort to modernize taxpayer services and reduce administrative burdens. By providing digital access, the IRS aims to eliminate the need for paper-based and phone-based interactions, making the process faster and more convenient. The expansion includes partnerships, Indian tribal governments, tax-exempt organizations, and federal, state, and local government entities, joining sole proprietors, S corps, and C corps, which already have access.
