Northern Lights Alert: 23 States Could See the Glow
A strong G3 geomagnetic storm could make the Northern Lights visible across 23 U.S. states on Thursday and Friday nights. NOAA says multiple Earth-bound “cannibal CMEs” may intensify aurora activity, creating rare viewing opportunities deep into mid-latitudes. The best chances are expected in states including Washington, Montana, Minnesota, Michigan, New York, and Maine, with possible sightings extending as far south as Illinois, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. Experts recommend watching under dark, cloud-free skies late at night for the clearest views.
