Massachusetts State Police Honor Fallen Trooper Kevin Trainor in Funeral Ceremony
A funeral was held for Massachusetts State Police Trooper Kevin Trainor, who was killed in a head-on collision with a wrong-way driver. The service took place at St. James Church in Salem, Massachusetts, and included a procession and a flyover by the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing. Governor Maura Healey and Massachusetts State Police Col. Geoffrey Noble spoke at the funeral, praising Trainor's bravery and dedication. Trainor, who was 30 years old, died on May 6, 2026, after his shift ended. He was struck by a Jeep driven by Hernan Marrero, who also died in the crash. Trainor is survived by his fiancée, mother, sister, and three brothers. He joined the State Police in 2023 after working as a corrections officer.
