Customers Detain Armed Robbery Suspect at Greenville Costco
In Greenville, South Carolina, customers at a Costco store detained a man armed with a machete and pickaxe during an attempted robbery. The incident occurred on Thursday morning when the suspect, Jose Alejandro Giraldo, entered the store and attempted to rob the jewelry counter. Witnesses reported that Giraldo was wearing a mask and carrying a backpack. Alarms sounded, prompting customers and employees to flee towards the exits. Before police arrived, customers managed to detain Giraldo, who was later charged with armed robbery and third-degree assault and battery.
