Lockheed Martin Awarded $76.6 Million Contract for Trident II D5LE2 Missile Development
Lockheed Martin Space, based in Titusville, Florida, has been awarded a $76,562,774 Cost-Plus-Incentive-Fee modification to a previously awarded contract. This modification is for advanced design and development activities related to the Trident II D5 Life Extension 2 (D5LE2) program. The U.S. Navy's announcement indicates this work is part of the Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Alteration effort. While specific engineering tasks, hardware quantities, or component changes are not disclosed, the contract aims to extend and modernize the Trident II D5 strategic missile system. The work is expected to be completed by September 30, 2030, with 51% of the work performed in Denver, Colorado, and other locations including Elkton, Maryland, and Montville, New Jersey.
