Panamanian Citizen Discovers Unauthorized Inclusion on National Assembly Payroll
A Panamanian citizen, Julissa Morales, has reported that her identity was used to include her on the National Assembly's payroll in 2023, despite never having worked for the institution. Morales discovered this discrepancy while reviewing her employment history on the 'Mi Retiro Seguro' platform of the Social Security Fund (CSS). Her records showed her as a National Assembly official from January to December 2023, with an accumulated salary of $4,933.30. Morales stated that she was employed by a private company throughout that period and expressed concern about the potential repercussions on her employment history and future retirement. She has since filed a formal complaint with the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and submitted documentation to the Comptroller General of the Republic to investigate how her name appeared on the legislative payroll.
