Northeast Wyoming Home Prices Surge 20% Amid National Market Cooldown
In northeast Wyoming, home prices have surged by 20% despite a general cooling trend in the U.S. housing market. This increase is particularly notable in areas from Gillette to Aladdin, where inventory is scarce and properties are selling quickly. Real estate agents attribute this trend to a growing number of retirees moving to the region, attracted by its affordability and lifestyle. Jessica LaCour of 411 Properties notes that the area's inventory has dropped by 35%, with homes typically selling within a week. The region's appeal is further enhanced by lower property taxes and fewer regulations compared to neighboring states. Meanwhile, Cheyenne has also seen a rise in home values, driven by military, government jobs, and remote workers.
