Man Dies from Self-Inflicted Gunshot After Barricade Situation in Katy; Woman Found Dead
In Harris County, Texas, a man who barricaded himself inside an apartment in the Katy area has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound during a standoff with SWAT. The incident began when the man allegedly shot his girlfriend, critically wounding her, before calling authorities in a frantic state, claiming the shooting was accidental. Upon arrival, deputies found the man refusing to comply with commands and threatening to kill himself. Despite crisis negotiators' efforts, the man remained barricaded. Drones were deployed to assess the situation, revealing the woman inside showed no signs of life. The standoff ended when the man shot himself on the balcony. Both the man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the circumstances of their deaths is ongoing.
