One-Year-Old Baby Found Unharmed on Philadelphia Sidewalk After Car Theft
A one-year-old boy was found safe on a sidewalk in Philadelphia after the car he was in was stolen. According to police, the incident occurred just after 11 p.m. on Monday in the 3400-block of Henry Avenue. The child's mother had briefly exited the vehicle, leaving the baby inside, when a suspect took the car. The mother had a tracker in her vehicle, which led police to the 4000 block of Parkside Avenue in West Philadelphia, where the car was discovered abandoned. However, the child was not in the car seat. Approximately half an hour later, the baby was found unharmed by his grandparents on a sidewalk, a full block away from where the car was stolen. Authorities believe the thief was unaware the child was in the vehicle and subsequently left the baby on the side of the road. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage and collecting forensic evidence, including fingerprints and DNA, from the stolen car to identify and apprehend the suspect.
