Alpine County Secures Nearly $500,000 Grant for Charity Valley Trailhead and Terrapin Pines Disc Golf Project
Alpine County, California, has been awarded nearly $500,000 from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC) for the Markleeville Disc Golf/Charity Valley Trailhead Project. The grant, totaling $498,572 from Proposition 68, is part of a larger allocation of nearly $1.5 million for sustainable recreation and tourism projects across Alpine, Butte, and Inyo counties. This funding will primarily be used to improve parking and amenities at the Charity Valley Trailhead, located approximately three miles west of Markleeville along Hot Springs Road. Additionally, a portion of the grant is designated for equipment to construct the new 27-hole Terrapin Pines Disc Golf Course, which will be situated adjacent to the trailhead parking area.
