Firefighters Rescue Missing Dog from San Francisco Bay, Reunite with Family
Firefighters in San Francisco successfully rescued a small dog that had been missing for weeks after it was found swimming in the San Francisco Bay. The dog disappeared over the Fourth of July weekend, and was spotted entering the bay near the Dumbarton Bridge in East Palo Alto on July 16. The Menlo Park Fire Protection District mobilized a rescue operation involving trucks, a boat, and an airboat, and used binoculars and a drone to locate the dog. After the rescue, the dog was handed over to the local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), which reunited it with its family.
