Branson Public Schools Introduces Chromebook Insurance Plan for Students
Branson Public Schools has launched the 'Pirate Chromebook Protection Plan' for the 2026-2027 school year, offering accident protection for school-issued Chromebooks. For an annual damage waiver cost of $5.00 per student, the plan covers incidents such as accidental drops, broken casings, liquid damage, natural disasters, electrical power surges, vandalism, and theft (requiring a police report). The plan limits student responsibility for repair or replacement costs, with many accidental claims covered at no additional charge. However, exclusions include negligence, loss of the device or charger, loss of personal data, unauthorized third-party repairs, and dishonest acts. Students will not be permitted to take a device home if there is an unpaid deductible on their account. The plan emphasizes that the devices remain the property of Branson Public Schools, and students agree to use them in accordance with district policies.
