New York City Department of Investigation Seeks Technical Investigator for Law Enforcement Technology Unit
The New York City Department of Investigation (DOI) is seeking a Technical Investigator to join its Law Enforcement Technology (LET) Technical Services Unit (TSU) in Manhattan. The DOI, one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the U.S., is tasked with combating municipal corruption. The Technical Investigator will report to the TSU Manager and provide technical assistance and operational support for investigative units. Key responsibilities include field deployments, operating and maintaining specialized surveillance and monitoring equipment, assisting with lawful electronic surveillance operations in compliance with court orders, and supporting audio, video, and data capture for criminal investigations. The role also involves troubleshooting technical systems, preparing detailed reports, and maintaining the property and evidence room. Candidates will be cross-trained in digital forensic and cyber investigation techniques.
