Atlanta's Herndon Square Phase II Completes Construction, Offering Affordable Housing Options
The Herndon Square Phase II development in Atlanta has completed construction, providing nearly 200 rental units that meet affordability standards. Located near Georgia Tech, Midtown, and downtown, the $57-million project is the largest section of a mixed-income community on former public housing land along Northside Drive. The six-story building includes 201 apartments, with 171 units designated as Low Income Housing Tax Credit units for individuals and families earning 30 to 80 percent of the Area Median Income. The development features amenities such as a dog-washing station, playground, wellness clinic, fitness center, and a computer business and learning center. The project was developed by Pennrose in partnership with Hunt Companies, Oakwood Development, Atlanta Housing, and city agencies, with financing from Invest Atlanta.
