Mississippi Delegation Applauds Key Field Selection as KC-46 Finalist
U.S. Senators Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.), alongside U.S. Representatives Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), Trent Kelly (R-Miss.), Michael Guest (R-Miss.), and Mike Ezell (R-Miss.), have announced that Key Field in Meridian, Mississippi, has been selected by the U.S. Air Force as one of four preferred locations to host the new KC-46 aircraft. The congressional delegation issued a joint statement commending the Air Force's decision, highlighting Key Field's strategic advantages. Key Field is currently home to the 186th Air Refueling Wing, which includes over 1,000 Airmen and Air Force personnel who service the KC-135. This unit is the primary National Guard tanker unit supporting U.S. military operations in the Middle East.
