AWS Launches Dogwood for Enhanced AI Agent Governance
AWS has introduced Dogwood, an open-source governance language designed to enhance the safety and reliability of AI agents. Dogwood allows for precise specification and enforcement of rules governing agent behavior, particularly in tool usage. It builds on the existing Cedar language used in Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, adding temporal conditions to evaluate sequences of actions. This enables the creation of policies that govern the order and frequency of tool usage, addressing critical safety concerns in AI agent operations. Dogwood is released under an Apache 2.0 license, allowing for community engagement and feedback.
