Bell Police Officer Charged with Illegal Surveillance of Ex-Girlfriend

A Bell police officer, James Ixcoy, has been charged with illegally placing a tracking device on his ex-girlfriend's car and accessing a California Department of Motor Vehicles database to obtain information about a man she dated. The charges include improper use of computer data and unlawful use of a tracking device. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office, Ixcoy conducted a DMV registration inquiry last July and subsequently planted a tracking device on his ex-girlfriend's car. If convicted, Ixcoy faces up to three years and six months in prison. He has been on administrative leave, and his arraignment is scheduled for October.
