Polish Foreign Minister Signals Possible Reconciliation with Slovakia Over Ukraine Support
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski expressed a willingness to improve relations with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico if Slovakia ceases to block European Union support for Ukraine. This statement was made during the Defense24 Days conference in Warsaw. Sikorski's comments come after Fico's recent positive remarks about Ukraine, despite his plans to attend Russia's Victory Day celebrations, which have been opposed by other EU members. The relationship between Slovakia and Ukraine has been strained, particularly after the Druzhba oil pipeline incident, which was damaged in a Russian attack. Despite these tensions, Fico has reiterated his support for Ukraine's EU membership and emphasized the importance of including Kyiv in any peace negotiations with Russia.
