Air Peace Launches International Flights from Ogun to London
Air Peace, Nigeria's largest airline, is set to launch international flights from Gateway International Airport in Iperu, Ogun State, to London this summer. The airline's CEO, Allen Onyema, announced that the new service will connect Ogun directly to Gatwick and Heathrow airports. This development marks a significant milestone for Ogun's aviation sector. The airport features a 4-km runway capable of handling large aircraft, including the Airbus A380, and Air Peace plans to deploy its Boeing 777 fleet for the London route. The initiative has received approval from Nigeria's Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo. Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun has outlined plans to expand the airport's ecosystem, including the construction of an international conference center and a five-star hotel. Cargo operations have already begun at the airport, with Allied Air and Ethiopian Airlines expected to commence services soon.
