Prince Harry Faces Multi-Million Legal Bill After Losing Privacy Case
Prince Harry and other high-profile claimants, including Sir Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley, face a potential legal bill of millions after losing a privacy case against Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL). The case, which involved claims of unlawful information gathering, was dismissed by Judge Mr Justice Nicklin after an 11-week trial. The claimants' legal team argued that ANL's costs were excessive, exceeding approved amounts by over £18.6 million. The claimants had insurance cover of £16.2 million, but this may not be sufficient to cover the total costs. ANL is seeking full cost recovery on an indemnity basis, citing the claimants' unreasonable conduct during the case.
