GE Aerospace Foundation Launches Next Engineers Program in Grand Rapids with Grand Valley State University
The GE Aerospace Foundation has initiated its Next Engineers program in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in collaboration with Grand Valley State University. This program, which has engaged over 34,000 students globally since 2021, aims to reach more than 4,000 students in the Grand Rapids area. The initiative is designed to foster interest in engineering careers, develop essential skills, and prepare students for future engineering degrees. Programming in Grand Rapids will include 'Engineering Discovery' for early secondary school students and 'Engineering Academy' for older students preparing for higher education. These programs will offer project-based learning, mentorship from GE Aerospace volunteers, and career exploration activities. Eligible participants who complete the 'Engineering Academy' and pursue engineering degrees will also receive scholarship support.
