Big Grass Fire Continues to Threaten Communities in Jordan Valley
The Big Grass Fire, located 25 miles southwest of Jordan Valley, Oregon, has burned over 513,000 acres and is currently 39% contained. The fire, which started on July 23, 2026, due to lightning, has led to the evacuation of 159 residents and threatens 315 residential structures. Firefighting efforts are focused on constructing and improving containment lines to protect communities, structures, and critical infrastructure.
