Ivy Tech Muncie Expands Workforce Training Amid Enrollment Surge
Ivy Tech Community College in Muncie has reported significant growth in enrollment and workforce training participation. The college's enrollment increased by 10% to 6,471 students, while workforce training participation surged by 62.3% to 1,003 students. The institution has been designated as Indiana's 'workforce engine' under Senate Enrolled Act 254, focusing on expanding access to education and training in Delaware, Henry, and Jay counties. The growth is particularly notable in advanced manufacturing and health sciences, with enrollment in these programs increasing by 61% and completions rising by 94%. The IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital School of Health Sciences also saw a 69% increase in enrollment and a 94% jump in completions. Ivy Tech Muncie's Advanced Technology Center provides hands-on training, preparing students for careers with strong starting wages and advancement opportunities.
