Meanwhile, the Old Farmer's Almanac forecasts a 'cold, snowy' winter for the Washington, D.C. region but also notes a milder overall season with above-normal temperatures, below-normal precipitation, and slightly below-normal snowfall. Key cold periods are expected in early to mid-December, early to mid-January, and early and late February, with snow likely in late November, early and mid-January, early and late February, and late March.
