Kansas Attorney General's Office Delays Refiling Charges Against Commissioner Milburn-Kee
The Kansas Attorney General's office has yet to refile charges against Bourbon County Commissioner Mika Milburn-Kee, following the dismissal of a previous case in late June. The charges, which stem from an incident on October 25, 2025, at a county commission room used as an early-voting polling place, included interference with the conduct of public business and disorderly election conduct. A proposed third charge, intimidation of voters, was also considered. Despite a court order setting a date for a new case, no charges have been refiled, and a scheduled hearing did not occur. The Attorney General's office has not provided a public explanation for the delay, stating only that the matter is under prosecutorial review. The speedy-trial clock, which began on April 15, continues to run, potentially impacting the timeline for any future proceedings.
